Ahnenforschung – Familie Hauptmann

Was für dich rausspringt

Genealogy – Hauptmann / Huhn family

Without knowing it, I came into contact with the subject of genealogical research very early on, when I visited the “Steinerne Kreuz” on the country road to Löbau with my father. That’s where my great… grandfather “Gottfried Hauptmann” died in an accident on July 3, 1840 by sinking a stone. I was interested in what I had to do with this one.

(aged 77)

I am researching the following families (names)

  • Hauptmann (Schönbach in Upper Lusatia, since 1615) and their ancestors
  • Locke, Ritscher, Wehle (Hochkirch, Plotzen)
  • Seifert, Krippenstapel and Frenzel (Schönbach, Neukirch…)
  • Huhn (Ostrau, Nossen, Tanneberg, Canada) and Koker (Leipzig)
  • van Semmern, Tschernatsch (Steinhagen, Devin), Lehmann (Seifhennersdorf)
  • Jeremies and Graf, Clemens (Schönberg, Cunewalde, Weigsdorf-Köblitz)

First I would like to introduce myself: My name is Henryk Hauptmann, 52 and a single father of 4 wonderful children. I come from Schönbach in Lausitz (Germany), am a trained locksmith and now work with 2 colleagues as an IT supervisor for around 220 employees in a large facility. In my spare time I’m in martial arts, bloging (https://www.lerne-kaempfen.de/blog/), writing and reading….

… and genealogy research 🙂

When I have been in a deep personal crisis, I began researching my family history and came across exciting incidents and diverse documents that my father had already collected. When I was looking for the documents for the upcoming property-tax-declaration, they fell into my hands again. Since my father is already 87 years old and I don’t know how much longer I can ask him about many things, I have restarted the genealogy project with a lot of commitment.

My humble beginnings in genealogy research

In the beginning I worked with very simple, graphical genograms. However, these soon reached their limits, which the diverse family constellations could no longer reflect well. Now I use professional software and would like to complete the open ends for ancestors and descendants and add missing information.

My first steps in genealogical research

At this point I would like to ask for your help. I would be happy if you support me or forward this information to family members who may already be doing genealogical research or have collected many documents. I am happy to provide data as PDF or GEDCOM files. I work with the software Heredis (https://www.heredis.com/de/) and become a part of MYHeritage .

The XXL family

How you can help me

In particular, I would be pleased if you complete information about your children, grandchildren, siblings, uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces, if known. It would be nice if you added unknown partners and people (if you know the dates of birth, marriage, divorce and death, profession(s) please also include the places).

A family list of the ‘Frenzel’ line. A descendant list, scanned and converted into a table via OCR and later imported into the program.
A clan list in an Excel spreadsheet – this is what it looks like.

If you have ancestor lists, information, documents, contracts, excerpts from church and baptismal registers, ancestral passports/books, obituaries from newspapers, photos of tombstones…. I would be pleased if you would send me copies/photos (by mail/WhatsApp).

A pedigree from ‘Max Huhn’ in the 1930s

List of descendants on the computer in the Heredis software

In the end it can look like this

A family tree with 5 generations
A family tree as a circular graphic

What’s in it for you

After i will have entered all(most) ancestors and lateral lines, I would be happy to create a family tree, a detailed list of ancestors/descendants, a family tree or even a family book for you…

Dear greetings form good ol Germany
With love your Henryk 🙂
